The Financial Year End(s)

I don’t know why but humans love to complicate things. Whether it’s work, play, relationships, languages, business, or let’s say even laws.

Let’s have a look at different Financial Year (FY).

India, Canada, Japan, Singapore, etc follow April 1st- March 31st as a FY

Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Mauritius, Pakistan etc follow July 1st- June 30th as a FY

USA, Thailand, etc follow October 1st- Sep 30th as a FY

Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, etc follow Jan 1st- Dec 31st as a FY

And there are many who have their own odd intermediate dates for FY.

A uniform FY dates would have made lots of accountants, analysts, attorneys, etc job easier.

There is no need & no fun in complicating things. We all should try to make things simple
